Horse Racing: Noel Fehily will miss ride on Kauto Star
Kauto Star will be running in the William Hill King George VI Chase at Kempton on Sunday and is all set to claim the event for the fifth time. On the other hand, his regular rider Noel Fehily has been reported to be missing his
ride in the historic event that the Paul Nicholls trained champion has gained victory in four times.
Talking to the correspondents about the development and future bids of Kauto Star, his trainer said that he had approached the famed and celebrated jockey Tony McCoy to ride Kauto Star in the upcoming event, on Wednesday, and is
now waiting for McCoy’s reply to the offer. The great jockey has been revealed to ride Albertas Run for his connections with Jonjo O’Neill and Trevor in the upcoming event.
The champion jockey Fehily has had great successes aboard Nicholls’s trained racehorses. Initially, it was apprehended that Fehily would not be making it to the King George VI chase after he sustained intense wrist injuries at
Newbury in the event that took place last month. He is now reported to have stepped in for the injured colt Ruby Walsh.
The injured jockey made an impressive comeback after the Newbury event, at the Cheltenham’s International fixture that also took place in November. Nonetheless, Fehily does not feel good enough to think that he is fit to take part
any horse racing event at the moment. He reckons he would not be able to manage his ride.
On the other hand, the fancied trainer Nicholls has said that Fehily has let himself down as he thinks that he needs an operation and a surgery to treat his wrist injury and thus, will be staying out of the sport for about six
to eight weeks.
Talking to the correspondents on Wednesday about his decisions for the upcoming events, Fehily said that this race particularly is very significant and it has the potential to make history in the racing industry. He further added
that it would have been great to be a part of the race, but he also added that he would have never been able to forgive himself if he was held off by a rival in this meeting.
Meanwhile, the superstar of the event Kauto Star has been revealed to be no big than 11-10 with sponsor William Hill for the King George meeting.
