Horse Racing: Peter Toole suffering from chest infection in hospital
The severely injured jockey, Peter Toole, is still admitted in the Walton Centre of Neurology and Neurosurgery. According to doctors, he is showing positive signs but it is going to take him a long time to recover because he has still not gained consciousness
so it is difficult for them to comment on his rate of recovery.
Nonetheless, the doctors also describe his state as being stable. What might make matters worse for the young jockey is his situation right now. According to most recent reports, the doctors have revealed that Toole is suffering from a chest infection while
at the Walton Centre, located in Liverpool.
Because of the chest infection, the doctors have banned any one from seeing the young jockey since the infection might be contagious. As for the reports, they are indicating that he is showing a somewhat positive response towards the treatment.
Some of the doctors at the Walton Centre have also suggested that the jockey can be discharged from here and sent home in a week’s time or so.
This is a time of great stress for the family of the young jockey. His father, Jim Toole, was approached by correspondents to inquire about the condition of the injured jockey after the terrible fall at the Aintree racecourse on the 9th of April.
Jim said that Peter is not doing well. He said that he does open his eyes once in a while but he has not regained consciousness as yet. The worried father added that it will take a great deal of time for him to recover completely and the doctors are unable
to assess his condition because of his unconscious state.
As for movements of the body, Jim said that he can only slightly use his left arm but the right part of his body is far from being alright.
As a final note, Jim was reported as saying, “He got a chest infection, he’s still ill he just picked it up and he couldn’t have visitors, which is a shame as a lot of the boys have been waiting to visit him and see him”.
