Horse Racing: Rakti, the son of Polish Precedent dies at 11
The six-time winner of the Group I races, Rakti died at the age of eleven. He was the son of the racehorse Polish Precedent and was recently standing at the Irish National Stud. Before this, he stood at the Huma Park Stud. He died at Chatswood Stud that
is situated in Australia. The cause of his death is reported as being a pelvic fracture that damaged one of his arteries.
Throughout his career as a stud, the eleven-year-old racehorse was shipped from Ireland to Australia and vice versa. Nonetheless, his connections had decided that he will stay in Australia in the year 2011. This decision was probably a result of the fact
that he was commanded a fee of A$ 11,000.
The racehorse was originally a trainee of the horseman Bruno Gizzetti, but later started training under the care of the trainer Michael Jarvis in Newmarket. Amongst the two Italian Group I events that he contended, he claimed the Derby Italiano. Meanwhile
his other top class victories include those in the Champion Stakes, Prince of Wales’ Stakes and the Queen Elizabeth Stakes II. Moreover, he won the Lockinge Stakes with a distance of five lengths.
The racehorse was bred by Azienda Agricola Rosati Colarieti in Britain. He was sired by the Rainbow Quest mare Ragera. She was the daughter of Smageta, who is well as an Italian Classic placed.
On the other hand, the former stakes winner Anjiz also died at the age of 22. He was the sire of the racehorse Anjiz Star and El Noi, the Argentine Group I winner, and son of Nureyev. It has been revealed that the 22-year-old colt succumbed to colic on the
26th of December, nonetheless his death was reported to the media on the 30th of the same month. He died at Benjamin Araya’s farm that is situated near Coronel Suarez.
Anjiz has had a very successful stud career as he covered a mix of thoroughbred racing mares and polo mares in a very successful way for a number of seasons. It has been reported that the colt started his career as a stud in New York, after which he was
sold by Gainsborough and Questroyal Stable to stand in Argentina in the year 2000. Before returning to Argentina, he bred at Solred Farms in Florida for the 2001 breeding season.
