Horse Racing: Rare Bob claims the Leopardstown event
This weekend provided the fans of horse racing with some quality racing events that included the Tote Pick Six Every Sunday Leopardstown Handicap Chase. The meeting was a Grade A event that was open for racehorses of age five and above. The race was run
over a distance of 2 miles and 5 furlongs.
The race witnessed an extraordinary and rather a splendid performance by the colt Rare Bob. He did indeed give a flawless performance and thus truly deserved the victory in the Leopardstown meeting today. The front runner gave an immaculate round of jumping
and was the top weight contender of the race.
As the racehorse cleverly and courageously plunged into the countryside, he was successful in taking an early lead under the jockey Paddy Flood. The champion was then able to hold off his rivals by a distance of three lengths. He could be claimed the winner
of the race from the very start.
He was sent off as 10-1 favorite with the sponsors. The strategy that was devised by his jockey proved out to be very successful for the pair as Rare Bob managed to ping every hurdle, the others on the field were just observed to toil behind him.
As the race proceeded, the talented racehorse did not leave the front place and continued in the leading position. In the final stages of the start, the trainer of the colt Dessie Hughes experienced a pleasant sight as his trainee made a clear dominance
over his rivals, which included the racehorses Got Attitude, Silent Creek and Follow The Plan. The other contenders were only seen to struggle for a place finish under their jockeys, as Rare Bob had a clear grip of the victory.
The most impressive part of Rare Bob’s performance was his last jump that can rightly be called perfect and that officially declared him the winner of the race. Meanwhile, Got Attitude managed to finish the race in the second spot, two lengths behind the
winner. On the other hand, the competitor, Organisedconfusion, who was not very visible during the course of the race managed to finish in the third place.
The trainer of the winner was taken by surprise when Rare Bob claimed the event. This was his second victory of the day, first one being the Magnanimity. Talking to the correspondents in a post race interview, he was reported as saying, “I’ll probably put
him in the Ryanair as there’s not much less else for him.”
He further added, “He’s ran some good races over hurdles making the running and doesn’t mind being in front. It’s good job they let him lead today.”
