What is the difference between the Backstretch and the Back Straight?

  1. Really nothing.

    However, the backstretch can be used to describe the place where are the training barns are.  And the back straight is only the backstretch part of the track.

    I believe that you can use either word to describe the far side of the track, but I've only heard the word backstretch used to describe the barns area.
