Horse Racing: Tony McCoy to ride Price Of Fire
The famed jockey, also winner of the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award, Tony McCoy will ride the racehorse Prince Of Fire in the MCR Hurdle that will take place at Leopardstown racecourse on Sunday.
The talented racehorse has been training under the care of the trainer Charlie Swan and is the 12-1 favourite with the sponsors. While Price Of Fire will be ridden by the champion jockey, Mark Bolger will be riding Alpine Eagle,
JP McManus’s other racehorse. It has been revealed that the colt shares the top weight of 11st and 8 lb with the other contender Slieveardagh.
The event carries purse money of 100,000 Euros and the field of the handicap event was declared on Friday. The list of final competitors added up to 26 racehorses. On the other hand, only three entries have been eliminated. The
eliminated contenders include Day of Destiny, at 33-1, Doctor Deejay, a 16-1 favourite and Marlay Park, at 25-1 with the sponsors.
Also, it has been announced that none of the competitors will be ruled out of the handicap event. Mutadarek is the racehorse that is on the list, and is all set to compete in the event with a weight of 9st and 10 lb under the jockey
Stephen Gray.
Amongst the other potential winners is the colt Capellanus. The racehorse has been the hot favourite for all those involved in the horse business throughout this week. He will be ridden by the jockey Andrew McNamara in this particular
handicap meeting. On the other hand, the talented racehorse Some Slam will be ridden by Andrew Lynch. The racehorse is also a well-backed ante post favourite with the sponsors.
The field of 26 contenders includes some of the best racehorses of the country. Prima Vista, the ante post favourite of the event is the mount of the jockey Paul Carberry. His rival and also the second best with the sponsors, Tijuana
Dancer will be ridden by the jockey Timmy Murphy. As for the third best competitor, New Phase, the amateur jockey Robbie McNamara has been appointed.
The fans of the sport and all those involved in the horse business will be provided with some great quality racing this weekend. Apart from the MCR Hurdle on Sunday, Chepstow racecourse will be staging the prestigious Coral Welsh
National on Saturday. As for the Sandown meeting tomorrow, it is a subject to inspection since there is a threat of heavy rainfall victimizing the event.
