Horse Racing: World thoroughbred rankings
Blame gave a spectacular performance in the Breeders’ Cup Classic, the most significant event of this season, held at Churchill Downs last weekend. He took over the field and bagged an impressive victory over the thoroughbred Queen Zenyatta. On the basis
of this race and other starts that the racehorse contended this season, he has been ranked as second best according to the World Thoroughbred Rankings. The colt who is dominating this list of top thoroughbreds of the world is English bred Harbinger. He impressed
fans and sports analysts by winning the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot in July, by 11 lengths.
The winner of the 13 Grade I races, Zenyatta has been placed in third place after her second place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Churchill Downs. She lost this race with a very narrow margin, but is still loved and fancied by her fans and connections.
Her fate after retirement is yet undecided, however, his passionate admirers are more than happy to see on the World Thoroughbred Rankings’ list. Zenyatta is joined by another dominating female racehorse, Goldikova. She has the honour of becoming the winner
of the three Breeders’ Cup races when taking the TVG Breeders’ Cup Mile for the third consecutive year. Both the champion fillies occupy the third spot in the world’s list.

He finished third to the French trained racehorse Americain in the Emirates Melbourne Cup. Americain gave his best performance of the season in this event by finishing the race 2 ¾ lengths ahead of the runner up.
Going down the list, the strong mare Black Caviar also has a spot in the list of top thoroughbreds, after she won eight races from just as many starts and displayed her talent at its best at Patinack Farm Classic that took place at Flemington by four lengths.
She is currently the third rated female thoroughbred racehorse after Zenyatta and Goldikova. Sacred Kingdom, is also being considered in the top sprinting horses along with Black Caviar.
Buena Vista also proved herself to be a great filly after she was successful in holding off Pelusa the two length winner of the Japan I Tenno Sho event that was held in Tokyo. Pelusa is currently being considered the highest rated three year old racehorse
in Japan.
Twice Over, the English bred racehorse also impressed his fans by winning the Emirates Champion Stakes at Newmarket for the second consecutive year. In this particular event, Twice Over defeated Vision D’Etat (the French bred colt) and the winner of the
Arlington Million race Debussy (the Irish bred colt).
