  1. I go between dressage and 3 day eventing, I have two bay Trakehner's that are brothers, one 16.2 the other 17.1, I was very lucky in finding two athletic horses, related, with two distinct personalities. One very relaxed and eager to please, which is perfect for the finesse of dressage, and the other very very spirited and willing to give his heart for the race!

I have owned thoroughbreds, QH's and Morgans before but the intelligence, integrity and just pure essence of movement of the warm bloods just blew me away!

Many of my friends that own thoroughbreds call them 'dumb bloods' because of their unwillingness to perform and give their all for certain people. But i have found that with the Establishment of trust, the proper gear (bits that dont cause pain, no restricting tack, proper saddle tree's) and the use of subtle commands like weight shifting, leg and only reins to control head movement, these horse are willing to literally die for you, not because they fear you and the whip, but because they truly love you!

  2. Although I love to just be out with my horses, my favorite way to ride is on my park horse -- the extreme motion is just fun.

[Yes, I also show him -- look up Arabian Park on the internet -- it's a blast.  YouTube even has some footage from previous National Championships]

  3. I love Horse Racing!! it's my obsession! i used to take camps with horses when i was like 7, but that was when i was scared of horses though!!! now i like the thrill of horse racing and want to go the Kentucky derby!!!

  4. Mainly done hunters on the 4h circut but tried some games with a different trainer for a while just for the fun of it.  I'm starting my hunters in some dressage now, because i have one littler hunter that is so athletic and graceful she is a natural at dressage.  We've started some half passes and tempi-changes, basic 30 meter circles (and being round on the bit).  She's great for my trainer and can hold a counter canter and has beatiful flying changes and tempi-changes, I just haven't gotten to that level with my aids and my seat yet.  I'm still trying to ride in too forward of a seat from my days jumping.

  5. Some dressage and some light jumping but mostly trail and just for pleasure.

I used to work at the race track and ride as an exercise rider.

  6. I do mostly Hunter/Jumper. You cant keep me away from flying over jumps. I love it so much. Its really competive though.

  7. I generally do showjumping :)     I'm not really a dressage fan myself but my intsructor makes us do it on occasions.

  8. I do hunter. and gymkhana (barrel racing, pole bending, key hole ect) i love gymkhana the best, got a need for speed. other wise i ride english, no jumping though, my TB has long pasterns.

  9. I do mostly barrel racong and i ride western. I don't like to ride english because I'm used to grabbing a horn when a horse takes off on me.

  10. Showing. I don't jump much, since I had an accident 2 years ago jumping where I split my head open and I lost all memory of what happened.

Me & my pony Maisie do senior equitation though, we are showing the day after tomorrow =]

  11. I ride hunter /jumper I own a grey throughbred and we show all over the place and we love to train and have fun. We also compete for points obviously, me and my friends just hang out and go trail riding a lot when we arn't training hard. We always like a hard work out, I also own a pony we are trying to sell him he is super cute! I hope this was a nice opinion to read haha

  12. Dressage- and I have been involved with this sport for most of my life. When I was a teenager, I also used to jump a lot- but then I had a bad fall in college and lost my nerve over fences. I still love the sports of eventing and showjumping, though, and follow them as a spectator. I have a mare that I am doing Training Level work on- she is a retired polo horse who just started her dressage training. I enjoy it- it's a lot of fun.

  13. Used to work in race tack as a excercise rider. Have tried equestrian riding, but not used to the long stir ups. Just love being around with horses.

  14. I do mounted shooting which is super cool and all y'all should start it... like now....

  15. I love horses, and I'm not an expert yet, but I do know some stuff. I will soon learn how to ride freely. I can walk, trot, and canter. I can do posting, too. I really want my own horse! I take lessons on a Paint named Gent.
