  1. get it a bigger blanket so it doesnt rub perhaps get 1 fitted

  2. Camrosa on the bald spots. Sew silk (an old head scarf from a charity shop) inside where the sheet rubs her. Silk is a natural fibre so it won't make her sweat and lighter than air so will be comfortable too. I use silk in one of my boys winter rugs for this reason.

  3. l**k it

  4. Unfortunately the  hair cannot be made to grow back any quicker - otherwise we would never have bald men!  Just leave the fly sheet off or get one fitted properly.  If she is in the stable you could have the sheet over her and the front done up behind the withers, held in place by the circingle or roller, but this is not safe to put her out in as it could fall off with a lot of movement.

  5. This is called Rug Rub and is common on horse who dont have proply fitting rugs. To help you with this i put sheepskin (from my dogs bed :P) sewn on the area. It worked well or there are bibs you can buy at your local saddlery :)

    Goodluck

  6. Its Either To Small Or To Big,, You Need To Get Your Horse Fitted For His/Her Blanket Size

  7. The others are right, the blanket doesn't fit right, a lot of tack shops can help you get the right fit.  So, look into that.

For the bald spots real aloe is the best.  Massage it in.  The aloe heals while the massage stimulates the hair follicles.  Another product that can help is called Peace & Kindness, it comes in a easy spray bottle.  Just follow the directions, it does amazing things.  It is found on this website:  www.chrissystems.com or call 1-800-654-7006

If you get your horse fitted for a blanket and it still rubs, then try sewing fleese around the spot where it rubs.  Not on the spot, you want to raise it  up off the skin slightly.  Your horse also needs time out of the blanket for the skin to breath as well as the skin needs to absorb the suns rays.  It helps keep fungus and baterial growth down.  It also give the skin a break.

EDIT:  Zeb G's suggestion of silk is also a good one.  You may need to hand stitch it in, silk can sometimes be tricky to work with.

    Good luck

  8. The rug sizing questions arent exactly accurate.  You can get the right size rug for your horse but it depends on how the company who has made the rug - cuts it.  If it is wide at the front and slips back then it is going to rub.

If it is too big at the front and is slipping back and rubbing, measure your horse at the appropriate place and take the rug to a repair shop and ask them to take the rug in to the dimensions you have given them.

Of course if you have bought the wrong size rug.....then it will rub wont it.

But if you have the right size rug and it is still rubbing.....you need to look at other factors.

Not all bibs suit all rugs either.

It could be that you just need to take it to the repair people and ask them to put a soft lining just on that part of the rug.

  9. This is called "Cover Rub".

It is found when a cover is done up too tight or too loosely and it will start to rub if your horse likes to run and roll..

You can buy a "Horse Bib' from your local horse shop and that will stop your cover from giving your horse "cover rub''
