Horse brand registry? Or if someone can identify....

Not sure where this horse came from. He's likely half quarter horse, not sure if he may have some Tennessee Walker in him. He has a brand on his upper right rump and on his left hip. The left hip is either an upside-down "g" or a backwards "6", and the right rump is a "B 3" freeze brand. Not sure where he came from, or if there are any registries with brand pictures, descriptions, etc. If anyone knows the brand or any additional information, it'd be pretty neat. We don't know his history, we got him off a slaughter truck which probably came from out west. Many people have wondered if he is part Tennessee Walker, so any information on either his identity or where the brands may be from would be appreciated.

Summary:

Brand on left hip is either upside down "g" or backwards "6"

Freeze brand on right rump is "B 3"

Any brand info appreciated, or brand sites with possible matches.

Horse info:

  1. the brand on the top of the right hip is the ranch brand and since it is a freeze brand it would be a larger ranch, what state the ranch is in is another question and without knowing it can be a daunting search.normally the size of the brand is a good indication of how old the brand is,so let's say your brand is a two  piece brand or "B3" this would indicate it is an older brand, and from my guess it is.there are no rafters, bars, quarter holding, quarter shedding or any other indicators that it is a south western brand so i would start on the north western states and ask the states brand board for a search of the brand.the other brand is a hot iron brand so that may indicate a breeding or a foal number from a mare.

  2. I found a website i think can help you.

    heres the link: http://www.cowboyshowcase.com/brands.htm...

about half way down it tells you how to track you're horses brand and gives links to you're state where you can search for it.

    good luck :]
