Question:

Horse dumping ground in Kentucky?

Someone once told me that they live in an area in Kentucky that is being used to dump their unwanted horses. They said it started off as a couple to begin with and now has increased to about 3 dozen that are running in small groups. Someone else stated that there are over 500 abandoned horses in Kentucky alone.

I have found someone that is willing to pick these horses up and get them placed in permanent homes.

Does anyone know where these places are located???

  1. The first answerer pointed you to a good article on this issue. I don't remember where it is, but there's at 2 more articles out here on the 'net. Please look for them. They state that not all of the horses, most of them in fact, are NOT "dumped" nor abandoned. Some owners are using this area to turn out their horses for the winter and "collect" them up in the spring.

Thank you for being so concerned as to arrange for these horses to be placed. We need more people who care as much as you do for the horses. Just please, be careful when/if you go to get these babies to place them that you don't inadvertently steal someone's horse. Don't want someone who cares to get into legal troubles trying to help.
