i guess she is on an angle with head andn body inward towards center. i was scared she would get a foot caught between the 2 x 6 that keeps the sand from falling out, so i put another board up all a round. But i never had a horse do that before. anyone know about this??

  1. The pen may be a little small for him to make the turns he needs to.  All of my horses never had a problem except for one.  Once I made the pen larger it fixed the problem.  Some horses just need a little extra leg room :)  If it continues to be a problem I suggest not using the round pen.  If you're lunging use a line otherwise just ride in an arena or outdoors.

  2. yup. happened to my horse too (only in the round pen) i think its because they always have to bend since there are no straight parts. id be careful because my horse ended up cutting up his legs, so i stopped using the round pen.

i would take it easy if you use the round pen. better safe then sorry. you dont want your horse to end up injured

    WHATS WITH THE THUMBS DOWN?!

  3. I agree w/ Calamitty  but also try wrapping legs & bell boots

  4. I've always been told to not  use a bottom board and just rack it back in, the guy that told me this had 2, horses break there ankle cause of this.  I think it's best to do a little extra work and be safe:)  Hope your horse is okay.  And also if you put up more so they can't slip into the middle of the boards and then they slip and fall they can't go under it giving the ankles a chance, with the boards they might hit them and still break a ankl.

lets JUMP yeah I don't know either?  Someones in a bad mood:P
