Horse power?

I have a 2006 Lancer Es and i wanted to add a little more horse power with out having to spend crazy money on it i know there is a few things i could do but i want someones opinion first so please only if you know exactly what you are talking about then answer my question thanks these are some of the specs

Engine SOHC 2.0-Liter, I4, 16-Valve, SOHC, MPFI Engine; Front/Transverse Mounted With Horsepower Of 120@5500, Torque Of 130@4250, Cast Iron Block and Alloy Cylinder Heads

Compression Ratio 9.50

Horsepower@RPM 120 hp @5500rpm

  1. Without spending big money, you will NOT gain any appreciable power difference. A few HP is almost insignificant. Leave it be.


  2. well i would ask how much more your looking for...but you could start by add an intake, header, and exhaust. that'll give some more horsepower. but personally i say instead of adding power try to see if you could do some suspension work it makes the car feel faster and you'll be able to take turns faster as weel.....and if also wanted to boost the power you could raise the compression ratio up to i believe 11:1 or 11:5 but you'd have to use premium fuel....with this car its really hard to add power because the import performance market doesnt support the lancer unless its an EVO. If you had a type of civic it would be better but more played out i guess good luck
