  1. Vaccenations should be done at least once a yr. It also depends on the age of the horse (foals will need more shots and pregnant mares will need more shots). I give my 2 horses a combo of West nile and EEE once a yr every spring.

  2. Inoculations are vaccinations. Usually, horses get their different vaccinations once a year. Some are every other year, though. A vet can give your more detailed information about different vaccinations your horse might need.

  3. Inoculations are shots, or injections.  I think you are referring to vaccinations, which are given twice a year to protect the horse from specific diseases that are commonly known to affect horses in the area where you live.  For example, you might inoculate a horse with a vaccine for West Nile virus, since mosquitos carry the virus from birds to horses in summer months. Your vet will advise you on what vaccinations should be given based on what disease threats are present in your area at a given time, or continually.

  4. That's just another name for vaccinations. Your vet can tell you what shots your horse needs and when.
