I watched a race at this track on sunday, and witnessed

a horse running, but it didn't look like anything i'd seen before.

Its colour was more akin to a western film than a race track in the UK. The horse in question was called Honeypot Spleda.

It had the initials Sk where you'd find the colour i.e. B =bay

Gr= grey Ch = chestnut. What is the official colour of this type of horse.

  1. Sk = skewbald which means brown/white patches.

  2. That's really interesting

Her name is Honeypot Splenda and she is a 3yo filly by Stetson out of Balfour Lady by Absalom.

Both Balfour Lady and Absalom are grey and here is a little about Stetsen her sire from whom she inherits her colour:-

Tricolour, 15/16 TB, 16hh.  Sire Ayyabaan TB x Fidlantia 7/8/ TB by Prefairy TB, reg. Weatherby`s NTR and CHAPS

Stetsen was very carefully bred by the stud on TB lines, with two crosses of  Ã¢Â€ÂœThe Tetrarch”.  He has a beautiful head, long, neck, short compact body, together with floating action and a very laid-back excellent temperament, which he passes on to all his stock. He is the sire of Honeypot Splenda, who will run in 2007 if all goes well.

Also Honeypot Sporran, Stetsen`s Moon. Honeypot Spiderman, Honeypot Trilby, Honeypot Spunky Monkey and Country Top Gun all bred by the Stud.

Looks like there will be a few more like Honeypot Splenda around which will make racing even more colourful....hope you had a good day.
