Horse riding and bandana wearing

Question

I am going horse training, learning how to jump as I told really everybody. now and I was wondering if wearing a bandana is good. I mean I will be wearing a helmet a lot of times supposing this is my first time riding. should my hair be back...? or should have front ends with it? I get my hair shampooed a lot at the salon....heehee so I am used to having my hair back. what do you think?

It does not really matter honestly. If you like having your hair bakc you should put it in a bandana becuase having it up is hard to fit a helmet over. You should definetly always wear a helmet! I was at a show one day and my frind was in the ring at the time, she'd had a pretty good run but then her horse took of and smashed her right into the gate. She fell over her horse and hit the top of the gate with her head. SHe was not wearing a helmet. This put her into a coma for several days. Thank god she made it out of that. So always wear a helmet een if you like your hair up.

The safest, most correct headwear for English is to wear your hair all up and hidden under your helmet.  Whether you use a hair net, bandana, braid, or anything else doesn't matter, as long as it's under the helmet.  For extra long hair, some riders will use one of those barrettes with the hair net bag, so it's contained as close to the helmet as possible.

I never understood why this was safer until last year, when I saw a long haired child fall off a horse.  The horse stepped on her hair, pinning her underfoot.  She couldn't escape.  Fortunately, the horse was calm and didn't step on her, but it could have been awful.

Always wear your helmet

with or with out a bandanna , we used to wear one on the track , so sweat would not get in to our eyes

wear a chin strap

Now about Long hair, hey I wear mine down sometimes and other times I wear it up in my helmet ,,

If your just ridding and not showing it will not matter

But never have your hair in your face when ridding

If you just happened to move to get the ends out of your eyes at the same time the horse spooked most likely you'll lose your balance and fall

No hair in the face period
