Question:

Horse riding helmet replacement?

Three months ago I had a very traumatic fall from my horse, and I am just now preparing to begin riding again. I had no serious head injury, and my helmet looks fine except for some scratches. I have heard that it is always a good idea to replace your helmet after a serious fall, but my helmet looks fine to me. Should I replace it anyway? If I should, does anyone have a particular brand or style that they prefer? Thanks so much!

  1. The best helmets are IRH, Charles Owen and GPA.  If you can afford it go for the GPA or a Charles Owen.  If not an IRH is still a great helmet

  2. You should probably replace your helmet. However the type or barnd of helmet depends on how you ride. As in do you plan on showing? b/c then you might want to get a nice velvet covered helmet. If not a troxel helmet works well. I have a Troxel Spirit helmet that i bought from petsmart for $35 and it works great. hope this helps!
