  1. noooo!! riding a horse is amazing! i ride horses well i did this summer and part of last year! I had the best time of my life. consider yourself lucky. my daddy is in the military and i can't ride horses for a while cause we r gonna move! it sucks! so no getting on a saddle is not scary!

  2. It was never scary for me to be in a saddle. You are a good way up from the ground but you should feel pretty secure in the saddle and saddles are reasonably comfortable. Don't worry about mounting the horse. You can get a leg up from the trail barn staff or you can use a mounting block.

  3. It is comfortable to be in a saddle.  Your legs might be sore when you are done or possibly the day after......but being in a saddle is not a 'bad' feeling or uncomfy.

Some people may feel scared, but for most its not a bad feeling at all. Its wonderful to be on a horse.  Horses are normally very gentle animals and they understand that you may be afraid, they are very understanding animals.  Do you have a fear of horses?  If so, you might feel a bit scared but breath deeply and realize that trail horses have had many riders and are gentle animals.

Horse riding is not hard.  Just walking lazily along a trail is very easy.  Relax and let your body move with the horse.  Your backside will move forward when the horse starts...and then your back then shoulders will move. Its somewhat like a curtain in a breeze. You will sway with the animal....let your body do this its easier on you, just dont' do it overly .....relax and dont' think about it....You will move normally.

If you run on a horse, its a different story, but you'll be on a trail..so I doubt running will be a part of it.

Its not difficult getting into the saddle.  At a guided trail ride, they normally have either a stepping stool to climb up and get on the horse or they have helpers to aid you into getting into the saddle.  PLEASE, do not worry about that 30 pounds you want to lose when being helped into the saddle. I've seen 300 plus pound people get on a horse, with help.  Your weight doesn't matter at all.....so just relax and have a great ride....and have fun!

  4. It came to me as naturally as walking as iv been riding since i was 2 (so my mom tells me) but if youre that scared..why do it to yourself
