Hiya, I was wondering if anyone knew what the tyre pressures on a horse trailer should be. It'll be carrying two horses, a 14'2 cob and a 16 hand tb colt. Thank you in advance

  1. There should be markings on the tire that tell you the proper pressure for your tires. It is more dependent on the trailer make and model and the tires you have than the horses its carrying. Additionally, your trailer's owners manual should list the recommended tire pressure.

  2. Thats a hard question to answer considering you give no indication on the the type of trailer or size of tires on the trailer but a good rule is to follow what is is on the side wall of the tires remember it will say when hot and when cold also remember whats on the the side wall of the tire is the maximum air pressure I always run a little less then recomened and we have run thousands of miles on our horse trailer with never having a tire failure when in dought call your trailer rep or tire shop you bought your trailer tires from good luck

  3. The tires will tell you what pressure to use.  Look for the raised lettering on the tire.  It will say PSI for pressure then a number like 65lb or 80 lb.  Sometimes it is hard to find and read if you wet your finger and go along the letters it makes it easier to read. or you can always put on the glasses.
