Horse turns his head sometimes when i try to give him a carrot ?

I tried to give him a carrot from my hand and he turned his head

  1. like the others said, he might not be able to see it

    have a look at this website it shows his blind spots.

    or maybe like my friends horse he doesn't like carrots  


  2. I agree with Road Apple.

    It was probably trying to see what you were giving it.

    They cant really see whats in front of it, same with dogs (because of their snout) so theyll turn their head to figure out what it is.

    Kind of how a horse must really trust an owner to do jumping events, since they cant see the rails.

  3. Horses cannot see things up close, so he was probably like, "Hey, what's this girl shoving in my face?"

    He probably turned his head so he could at least see it with one eye to determine if it was good or bad.
