  1. Believe it or not, you can actually stable your horse at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC and stay in the inn on the estate.  You can also horse camp, if you prefer.  You can ride the estate which is something like 25,000 acres (or it used to be).

If you happen to be there on a rainy day or have the time otherwise, you can tour the house which is absolutely amazing.  If you tour the home, get the audio tour (self-guided) and take a behind-the-scenes tour, too.  They have a great restaurant and they are located right in Asheville where you can eat at several different local places and have access to modern conveniences if needed.

My husband and I would love to ride there, but we won't make it down there this year.

  2. i dont know

  3. The Biltmore house is a great place, a bit pricey.

Leatherwood mountains has both log cabins with private barns that you can rent as well as campsites with a big barn that you can rent stalls. They also have a restaurant and pool available. Most of the cabins have their own hot tubs. Lots and lots of trails. It holds endurance competitions, that's how many trails it has. In addition to the trails it has an indoor and outdoor arena. http://www.leatherwoodmountain.com

There is also Love valley, NC. It is a small town in NC that does not let any cars or trucks in it. It is surrounded by cabins and camp sites. The town is really small, but surrounded by many trails. The town has a tack store, church, a cafe and plenty of bars and dance studios. I don't know if there is enough for 5 days, but a weekend would be lots of fun.

Mosses cone national park has lots of trails, across  the street are the show grounds they have campsites and stalls available unless a big show is going on.

My favorite place is Leatherwood. It has new owners that have really put a lot of work into it. Just remember it is called leatherwood MOUNTAIN for a reason. Your going to be going up the mountain one of three ways - steep, steeper, or steepest.
