There is a possible chance that I may be moving to Germany [military family]. The sad thing is I dont know any german barely. Sure i know the simple and easy things like please, thank you, good day, ect. But other than that, I dont know much. How am i suppose to sommunicate with anyone.

Plus I am a horseback rider, who would like to continue wih that. But, that means that i would need a trainer who speaks fluent english.

What type of riding do they do there?

What should I wear?

Whats it like?

Is it anything similiar to The united states here?

Please give me any information you can.

Websites would be nice.

Thank you.

  1. Hi Sharie!

Lucky you!.... moving to Germany. I just came back from a holiday over there as most of my family live there.

I have 3 horses of my own and wanted so much to go riding out in the forests in Germany somewhere. I found a horse riding place in Reichelsheim (Odenwald) where you can ride out into the forest and hills with a guide if you want. One of the guides there spoke english. The centre had an indoor arena as well. They have Noriker horses. They were beautiful horses and we gallopped all over the countryside!  What a blast!! Anyway below is the website of the place we went riding.

    http://www.noriker-kaltblutpferde.de/Erl...

You could also try contacting the German Equestrian Association at:

    www.fn-dokr.de

Someone at either the Noriker horse riding centre (as for english speaking guide) or at the GEA should be able to help you,

As far as communicating, I've just starting using the following website to translate German to English and vice versa:

    http://translate.google.com/translate_t

It works great as you can copy and paste text and then translate it.

Hope this helps! Good Luck on your move to Germany.

    Cheers

    Hannelore
