  1. yes you can do it

it's easy to drive a horse

but if you are just starting better let your horse walk slowly

if not you might end up having broken bones

i  don't know how to ride a horse also but i have an uncle that teaches when i was 10. i thought it was very hard but it's not. I even let the horse run at a very fast speed

  2. I've wanted to go riding on the beach in Galveston but always come up with schedule conflicts when my friends go!

I've heard there is a stables on the southern end of Galveston Island but do not know the name.  The following comment is posted on http://www.galveston.com/outdoorfun/

"Finally, for those Texas cowboys who can't get enough of their horses, Gulf Stream Stables, located at FM 3005 at 8 mile road, offers horseback riding on the beach!"  I could not locate a website for that stables.

Some of my friends have gone riding at Crystal Beach, but I do not know of any rent lines there.

Take a look at http://www.texastrailriding.com  It lists trail rides all over Texas and sometimes lists rides in the Galveston area.  You might be able to find a person there that is familiar with riding in the Galveson area.

I'm currently president of a trail riding club.  If you'd like more information about riding north and west of Houston, feel free to E-mail me at StamRiders@hotmail.com.
