I'm and doing a show on Saturday where I will be judged on

walking (the horse walking, me riding. duh)

Control of the horse

How I work with the horse.

  1. Make sure your horse is spotless and depending on the discipline, you may want to braid your horse's mane and/or tail.

    You may want to read over the rule book for the show, too!


  2. since you'll only be walking, take time to concentrate on your equitation: heels down, shoulders down and back, fingers closed, thumbs up, tall position, etc.

    maintain control of your mount and make it look like you know exactly what you're doing.

    make sure your horse/pony is spotless and presented well (clean tack, braided maine and tail if it's a high standard show)

    most of all, have fun and try your best. good luck!
