Do you believe the two are connected? Or aren't they? If so, why or why not?

Thanks!

  1. i totally think they are but some may agree with me but some may not!

  2. You can connect just about anything with spirituality.  It just depends on how you see it.  I'm not sure what direction your question is headed, because of such a broad subject.  I don't believe the horses we have here on earth are eternal, spirit-filled creatures, but at the same time, there are horses in heaven and I believe they have a special place in God's heart.  I also believe God created us with a curiosity, love, and strong connection with the horse.

  3. I think it is easy to make the connection between horses and spirituality.

you might enjoy the following books:

    The Tao of Equus

    and

    Riding Between the Worlds.

both are by the same author, who I forget, but address the connection in a way, and also reference a lot of other works that report similar connections.

    it is interesting reading

  4. well it seems like they r connected but i wouldnt know y

  5. Horses are spiritual beings. They are flight rather than flight animals and have a good sense of right and wrong.

For example, the most stubborn Shetland pony which is a terror to the yard will be the most gentle and careful pony when a disabled person climbs on.

They are deep routed, with traditional roles, so YES in my opinion, horses are very spiritual.

  6. That depends on how you define spirituality, and whether you draw a line between spirituality and religiosity.

A popular definition of spirituality these days is that it is concerned with finding meaning and fulfillment in every day life and is not necessarily anything to do with religion or worship at all - and on that basis then yes, horses and spirituality are for me deeply entwined.  My horses have done things for me that nobody else has, and have fixed post-natal depression that no amout of pills or therapy could touch.  Horses are incredibly important to my well-being and purpose.

Religion... that's more a series of traditions and rituals centred around worship of one or more creator beings, and I don't think it's connected to horses at all.
