Horses and connections settling at Churchill Downs for the Breeders’ Cup event

John Gosden trained Questing and David Lanigan’s Meeznah turned out to be the very first two European horses to test their paces before the Breeders’ Cup meeting at Churchill Downs on Monday. Questing has been entered for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies
that is scheduled for 4th November at Churchill Downs. David Lanigan trained Meeznah is up for the Breeders’ Cup Marathon Group 2 at the same venue as Questing’s.
The two-year-old bay filly, Questing has raced thrice this season and has finished worse than third. She won the Maiden Fillies’ Stakes on 21st June at Newbury which was followed by a third position in the Whiteley Clinic Prestige Stakes Group
3 at Goodwood on 27th August.
Questing’s last race during this season till yet was the Sakhee Oh So Sharp Stakes Group 3 on 23rd September at Newmarket.
The lineup of thirteen at the Juvenile Fillies has Candrea, Rocket Twentyone, Miss Netta, Grace Hall, Self Preservation, Putthebabiesdown, Homecoming Queen, My Miss Aurelia, Northern Passion, Weemissfrankie, Frolic’s Revenge, Say A Novena and Awesome Belle.
The four-year-old bay filly of Dynaformer has raced six times this season and won twice out of these starts, came second, seventh and fifth once. On 28th July she won the I- Shares Fillies’ Stakes Group 3 at Goodwood.  
The next success was on 8th September in the DFS Park Hill Stakes Group 2 at Doncaster, a field set for seven contestants.
Meeznah is booked for the Breeders’ Cup Marathon Group 2 and has eleven participants to compete against. She herself has been assigned the third stall. The rest of the lot includes Birdrun, Baryshnikov, Pleasant Prince, Giant Oak, Brigantin, Harrison’s Cave,
Afleet Again, Cease, Eldaafer and A. U. Miner.
Connections to arrive early at Churchill Downs include Roger Varian and Caspar Netscher trainer Alan McCabe. Some connections are due to reach on Tuesday like Richard Hannon and Freddie Head.
The next day will have Aidan O’Brien, Sir Michael Stoute and John Gosden flying down and Sir Henry Cecil’s absence will get covered up by his wife, Jane.
A little down the week on Thursday, Alain de Royer-Dupre will return after attending the Melbourne Cup.
