Well i know i'm a beginner and yea i have a horse. But it seems like my horse can't do the things i want to do. And he is too old. We also don't click very well either. (my parents bought him and i didn't get to try him out) So i want a younger maybe 9- 15 year old horse and is bigger then my horse now. I'm also wanting to get into showing and training horses but i can't learn what i need to know with the horse i have now. So what do you think i should do for me to succeed in riding horses plus, having a horse that i can't learn everything i need too? I'm too afarid to tell my parents because they will probably get mad. I am really wanting to compete and show but idk if my parents want me to get a new horse.

Thanks.

  1. Don't sell your horse short!  Sounds like you need to work on getting to know him a little better, and bonding with him. A horse any age can still learn, as a rider with any experience can. Give it some time and I bet you'll find out that he's a sweetie, and you both can learn from each other. Don't be in such a hurry! You need to concentrate on learning yourself before you can train a horse. Relax and just enjoy what you have and remember not everyone that wants a horse is fortunate enough to have one!

  2. If you want to train you will need years of riding and logic.

Also, because your a beginnger you are going to want a VERY well trained horse. He will help you learn how to train a horse. Thats what happened to me. I rode a pushbutton horse and now I am riding a horse that I trained in gaming and jumping and touching up on pleasure.

The thing is you need a horse that knows more than you so you can learn how to the right things. Not worrying about getting the horse to do it.

  3. doesn't seem like you appreciate your horse very much

your lucky you have a horse  you can show your horse

no matter what age it is.  you need to take some lessons

and learn how to ask your horse what you want it to do

and then maybe you'll undersand what its like to really ride

and have fun . you need to grow up . you can't have every

thing you want all the time. learn from what you have

and appreciate the little things. if your so smart train the horse you have.
