Horses from U.S. to Mexico?

Me and my boyfriend are planning on going to Mexico in the near future we really want to take our horse. What are the requirements for that and how much will it cost?

Are you planning to visit Mexico briefly, or are you staying there for a longer period of time?  First,    I think it would not be a safe thing for the horse unless you have specific places to stay where the horse can be safely provided for planned out  before going .  I cannot find regulations about horses.  But, I thought that maybe if you could call a vet in whatever border town in the U.S. where you plan to cross, and ask if he has experience with this, that you might find info that way.  I am sure the horse would have to have all shots, records and a vet certificate...so a vet in a U.S. border town would probably have dealt with this before.
