  1. Yes.  A horse's stomach is no bigger than a rugby ball (or football for you Yanks!).  As a result they need to eat small amounts regularly - if left in a field a horse will spend 90% of his time eating grass.

The majority of a horse's diet is roughage (grass, hay, haylege, etc) and we all know what fibre does for your digestive system!

If you were eating that much, that often, you would feel the need to go the toilet on a pretty regular basis!

  2. Most do,but horses are the only animals whose c**p doesn't smell bad.

  3. Yes.  Horse have almost a very small r****m in comparison to it's size.  They typical human r****m is around 6inches long, for a horse it is just under 12 inches.  The r****m is the area where f***s accumulate prior to discharge.  Because this holding area is so small in horses they must discharge f***s more often.  The digestive system of a horse is designed for constant foraging - eating small amounts of food regularly through the day.  A horse will munch on grass or hay for as long as the food is available to it, rather than just consuming food at regularly scheduled intervals.  When the food is constantly coming in, it has to constanly keep going out.

  4. Actually, pound for pound, chickens c**p more than any other animal.
