  1. they won't completely mature until they're about 8 so i woulnt' worry about that at all.

  2. some horses teeth come in later than others and there is no set in stone age when they do and checking a horses age by their teeth is an around that age guess but until you know what feed they were on and if they were on pasture or stalled it is too hard to know the exact age of a horse. it is actually good that you have a wet mouth horse because it will keep the bit from sticking to the lips and causing mouth sores although it can be a little messy at times.perches are great horses and each one has its own personality and most have a lower lip that is sticking out like they have a dip of cope in it but they are sweet and loving horses that will do anything you ask of them.have fun with your perch and make sure you scratch her to find her foal spots.

  3. Not unusual for them to get teeth up till they are 8 - 9 years old.

  4. Some of the bigger breeds' teeth come in later. The draft breeds don't fully mature until around 7 or 8, so I wouldn't be surprised to see new teeth. If it's causing problems, contact your horse's dentist to see what you need to do about it.

  5. Sometimes I wonder why people reply to questions when they have no idea of the answer.

By 5 1/2 yrs a horse should have a full mouth, even a draught horse.   Full mouth means that the teeth are fully erupted and in wear, not just coming in.  So if your horse is 6-rising-7 she should not be having any teeth just coming in at all - if she's early 6 then maybe the corner incisors might be slow coming into wear, but that's about it.  So either the age is wrong and your horse is younger than you were told, or you're just not seeing something right.

Which teeth do you think are erupting?
