  1. no i think they were all ok this year

  2. Hopefully a few, in fact the more the merrier, the glue factories always rub their hands on national day.

  3. To my knowledge there were no fatalities in the National this year.

There was one fatality yesterday in the Topham Chase but that horse died of a haemorrhage and this cannot be directly attributed to the race as it could hae happened whilst the horse was standing in his stable.

  4. How about making the jockey's carry the horses around the course and see how much they enjoy it. No horses hurt this year thank goodness.

  5. I dont think any were hurt or injured this year and mine went with BLINGS to the seaside i think.......LOL

  6. I'm glad there weren't any this year. I find killing them because they are no longer fit to race disgusting and barbaric, personally.

  7. This is such a cruel race and I cannot bear to watch it.  Inthe past, when I have watched it, my heart sank every time a horse fell, because you didn't know if it was serious or not. People seem obsessed with cruelty to foxes, why the h**l do they tolerate this absolute cruelty to these wonderful, brave animals on this horrible course?

  8. Many people are under the misconception that the horse is whipped a lot in the final furlongs. This isn't actually the case, the jockey may appear to whip the horse, when what they are actually doing is 'whipping' the crop past the horses ear, the noise then encourages the horse to make that extra effort. There is a strictly regulated limit to the amount of times the whip is allowed to make contact with the horse! Jockeys lose their licence for over use of the whip!!

  9. I do not know just yet, but it is sick, every year the same, it is wrong!

  10. None, mine went to blackpool the give the kids rides. ;-)

  11. Funny how they shoot the horse but save the Jockey isn't it?????

  12. I heard the stupidest sentence yesterday during the horse racing,

"The worst thing about falling during a race is the way the jockey feels."

    Words fail me....

  13. If they didn't enjoy it they wouldn't do it,even when the jockey falls of the horses carry on 'cos they're having such fun...

  14. none  this year thank goodness

  15. there were none but thats what there breeded to do   and there just like food we eat  but anyway there shot to stop the pain but jockeys can be cured if there lame!!

  16. None killed that I know of, but I stopped paying attention when mine ran in to win at 33-1!

  17. none were hurt thankgod.it is a really cruel race dont you think? x

  18. I don't think any ,however I have always watched the race and been to the course many times, but today I was so upset seeing the winning horse get whipped,on the final leg.Really made me change my point of view on it,better late than never hey!

  19. The charity Animal Aid claims that 32 horses have been destroyed or put down over the past decade after racing at Aintree.  How reliable that figure is is debatable.  One can produce figures to claim anything - that doesn't make them correct.
