The Schalke sporting director has played down rumours that the club has launched a bid for the Barcelona full-back.
If recent reports were to be believed, German side Schalke had launched an ambitious bid to acquire http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Blues are eager to sign a replacement
for Benedikt Howedes, who is widely being touted to join rivals Bayern Munich this summer.
Heldt claimed that he does not really prefer to clarify rumours regarding any player but he had to come out and do so in this case. He insisted that there has been no contact whatsoever with the Spanish Copa del Rey winners and
the side have no intention to bring Alves to Veltins-Arena.
The chief insisted that Dani Alves is a great player and hailed him as one of the best defenders in Europe currently. He stated that Schalke have not even considered the player and to bid for him is completely another level.
“I usually don't do this, but this time there is such a completely false representation of our transfer policy in public. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dani-Alves-c9869 is a world-class footballer, there is no doubt about that. But we have not considered this player,
not even theoretically. These reports are just total nonsense,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Heldt admitted that there is no truth in the circulating rumours and criticised the media as an irresponsible source. He further clarified that the Catalan giants have also not offered the player to them and stated that there is
no truth in these stories.
“We have never made an offer to his club, nor have we had any contact with the player or his agent in any form, and he has not been offered to us either,” he concluded.
Benedikt Howedes has been widely linked with a move to Allianz Arena this summer after the Munich based outfit had considerable problems in the heart of defence throughout the campaign. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Van-Buyten-c10095 suffered an injury which
kept him out for the second-half of the season whereas Jerome Boateng has been below par.
