Every person must be responsible for  tremendously cutting down on waste via composting, donating, drinking tap water, only buying organic vegetarian foods, walking/cycling, and undoing damage by planting trees.

go in for rain-water harvesting which gives us plenty of water which would have been wasted otherwise. increase lakes to collect the rain water -  keeps the surroundings cool, also looks good and so on.
