Would it be possible that Britain and Europe can join together and build a hospital ship that looks like a big aircraft carrier that can go to different parts of the world in case of emergency to help and to assist.

  1. Actually the trend has been to equip large airliners (DC10), with operating rooms, and fly it to disaster areas.  A ship is limited to coastal  areas and are relatively slow getting where they are needed.  There is a hospital ship in Baltimore harbor, USNS Comfort, that was deployed to Iraq.  I understand they treated far more civilians than troops.

  2. Yep it's a great idea!

There are many different organizations that do just what you are describing. If you search the web you will find them. You can volunteer aboard many of them if you want.

  3. Have you never heard of the HOPE?  There have been a number of medical ships over the years... I almost worked on one years ago but liked the challenge that Green Peace offered more.  I have some fond memories of the Sea Shepard... except, maybe those times we would tie up in some place like Nassau and put a fresh coat of tar on that d**n thing... we could smell up the whole dock and the cruise ships hated us.

  4. they already exist and have done since the war

  6. There already several doing that, not just in the event of an emergency, usually funded by charities.
