If someone has no money at all in their bank and no insurance, and calls 911 for heart failure, will they still do everything to save him?

And if he needs further treatment would they do it for him too?

And if they do treat him, What if he can't afford to pay for the fees?

  1. State owned hospitals won't turn anyone away.  What will happen is they send you a bill and then you appeal it.  They will look at your finances and then determine how much you are responsible for.

  2. Medical personnel don't look at the insurance cards before they start treatment.  Yes, they will do everything medically possible to save him. Medical treatment depends entirely on need.  As far as the billing goes, hospital billing departments are more than willing to set up a payment plan that works for you and may even discount their fees if you ask.  If a person is totally unable to pay, the hospital will help the person apply for Medicaid.
