Hossa to Red Wings?

Real pissed at Ray Shero right now. So you are telling me that the Penguins couldn't offer Hossa $7.4million for one year? And the Red Wings had the money??? This is absurd. Malone gone, Roberts gone, Hossa gone. They better sign Jagr and Orpik. And do better than signed Erik Godard.

  1. You miss the point. They could have and probably DID offer him that much. He chose to go to Detroit because he felt they gave him the best chance of winning, and the one year deal means he can opt out next year if it doesn't work out for him. It is not just a matter of shelling out a lot of money. You can't make a player play for you if he simply doesn't want to.

  2. I do feel bad for the Pens, I really do.  I thought Hossa was crazy wanting to leave a team with that much talent, I couldn't think of anywhere else where he would have a better chance at getting a Cup.

Well, he found a way.  LET'S GO WINGS!

  3. Seriously, not even a Pitt fan, but I feel bad for those of you who are, especially since Hossa and Malone are done...I was praying Buffalo would've picked them up, if anyone stole them from the Penguins.

Ha, now we can share stories about our teams being cheap! Woo!

  4. Pittsburgh is starting to look like Edmonton after their cup loss. Albeit, they're not losing as much as the Oilers.. but still much of the same.

    Pronger, gone.

    Spacek, gone.

    Peca, gone.

    Dvorak, gone.

    Samsonov, gone.
