  1. OK. This is a very dangerous thing for you to do!

What you need to do is contact a foreign exchange student program and come over here in the correct manner.

You can find a list of those which are certified to operate in the U.S. at www.csiet.org. However, you'll find that AFS, Aspect, Rotary, and YFU are all good, solid programs with good reputations. I'm not sure all of them are in France, but at least a couple should be.

It may be too late to apply for the upcoming (2008-2009) school year. If that is the case, and you will have already graduated high school, contact an au pair agency and come over that way. You will be able to attend college and work for a family.

As a high school exchange student, you live as a family member. you don't cook, clean house, baby sit, etc. as a job (you may have a duty or two as a "chore" like other family members however).

Please, do NOT solicit for this on the Internet! Go through a reputable and recognized exchange or au pair organization!

  2. I agree with "feisty" go through a reputable organization! I'm an australian staying in your beautiful country at the moment on exchange for the year and i love it! I am with Rotary International and I'd definitely recommend them! Go to www.rotary.org/fr/StudentsAndYouth/Pages... and follow the links! Its organized locally through the rotary clubs so you could try getting in touch with your local rotary club, look in the phone book! And Good Luck!

  3. i don't think you should be asking this on yahoo because you never know what kind of people are on here. there are a lot of freaks in this country. try signing up with a program and they will place you with a host family.

p.s. do you know any french family that would take me in? just kidding!

  4. im sorry, but i cant really help you.

you should try and look up foreign exchange programs on the internet, im sure it will help
