There are literally thousands of Hostels in Lima. Recommendation number 1: Do not pick one in Downtown (Called "Centro Historico" or close to "Plaza de Armas"). Downtown Lima can be downright creepy at night (although during the day it is simply marvelous).

Your best bet will probably be in the district of Miraflores. I'm enclosing I few webs I've found that have info in English.

I recommend to you  Miraflores it is a safe  zone and where  you have all the options in accommodations, from  10 USD per night, (comun dormitory)a standard hotel of 20,  30, 40 USD private room , if you need all tourist information about , hotels, excursions, flights, etc  ...please write to me to [e-mail] or [e-mail]...I would like to help you  , I am a travel adviser. thanks a lot .
