Hi

Me and my partner are off to sunny Oz in october, we have been looking at hostels on the internet in Perth (Our first stop) they seem to be quite pricey for where and what they are?

Does anybody know of cheap and decent hostels? We would like a Private double, attached bathroom not neccesery....

Thanks!

  1. Go onto this website: http://www.backpackersintperth.com/#

Its ran by three of the loveliest people you are ever going to meet (Andy and Belinda, a married couple and Andy's sister Fiona), its always clean, welcoming and safe. Very close to the nightlife and the city is a ten minute walk or a free bus ride away.

May be a litle bit more expensive than your run of the mill hostel but it is well worth it!!!

It has a free breakfast put out everyday and 24hr tea, coffee and milk also included in the price. Also a big water filter machine for drinking water.

Foxtel (just dont expect to get anywhere near telly when Westcoast Eagles are playing Aussie Rules!!! Andy will chew your leg off lol) , 3 computers with wifi internet, touch-tone pay phone, security lockers for valuables, smoking area, DVDs/videos, balcony with good views, BBQ, laundry, huge kitchen and lounge room.

I got to Perth with the intention of being there 3 weeks and stayed 8 months!!!

On website go into goodtimes, top left hand picture, girl in the pink on the phone behind the girl with the camera thats me lol!!!

  2. Join the YHA, they have 2 excellent hostels in Perth, private double rooms a plenty, of course you share bathroom and cooking facilities, 1 is just off the city centre.

  3. Hi, my sister and I will also be arriving in Perth in October so we also spent a long time looking at hostels. Beatty Lodge (you'll find it on hostelworld.com or hostelbookers.com) is very cheap compared to all the others, I have written down that it's $25 for a private twin, though that could be wrong. They have internet, a swimming pool, laundry and it's apparently very clean (unfortunately no breakfast included but I'm sure you'll get by). Let me just see if I can find you a link. http://www.beattylodge.com.au/

Also Comfort Hostel doesn't seem overly expensive. You obviously will have to pay a bit more everywhere though if you want a private twin.

  4. www.hostelworld.com

Thats where I went when I booked hostels when traveling Europe.  But getting a Private Double will be expensive compared to sharing a room, like having four people to a room or something.  It will be cheaper. But if you want a double room, you might try finding a hotel in the area and you two split it and it might be cheaper, worth a shot looking, but hostels in certain areas can run a lil more expensive.
