I know it's early, but I'd like to get the planning out of the way, because I know if I don't, I'll end up doing everything at the last minute.

Everyone here will be 13-14.

Boy and girl.

'Tis a costume party.

Snack ideas and decoration ideas?

We kinda wanted to do a "CandyLand" theme.

IS there anyway we can do that for cheap.?

Also, do you know where I could get a Marilyn Monroe costume that doesn't cost 9347589345798341 dollars.?

  1. A couple of years ago i had a willy wonka themed party. i went to garden ridge its like a woman's home depo but they had all sorts of cheap decorations in bright colors. Oh and dollar store candy its cheep. you could cut up some old card bord boxes into shapes like gumm-drops and candy canes and turn each room in your house into the different lands.

  2. Halloween seems to be a theme in itself, rather than just Candyland (and what does Marilyn Monroe have to do with candy?)  ... Fall decorations ... bobbing for apples ... pinata ... scavenger hunt ...  apple slices w/caramel dip; popcorn balls; veggie/dip platter;  fruit platter with pumpkin dip (mix canned pumpkin with marshmellow fluff);  pizza;  Halloween cookies and cupcakes;  gummy spiders

  3. Look for a Marilyn Monroe costume online and print it out, using the picture as guideline to making one of your own as one of the people above suggested.  Look at these here:

As for candy ideas, here's something I saw in an answer to another question: http://www.sandycandy.com/

This seems more aimed at kids, but it sounds like fun for any age.  The kids can make these and take them home as party souvenirs.

Also I helped a friend with a halloween party for school and you can make a bowl of punch and put a surgical glove without the powder in it in the freezer filled with water and put that in the punch bowl before serving making it look like a hand in the bowl.

I don't know if I would stick to the Candyland theme too many other things out there to do.

These are pretty cheap for the Marilyn Monroe costume.

  5. Do up your own Marilyn Monroe costume! Buy a blonde bob shaped wig, a white dress, and some red lipstick. Bright colors for your decorating for candy land! All types of candy shaped decorations will do. Create your own out of cardboard, construction paper, and foam. When I think of CandyLand I think of candy canes, cotton candy, candy apples, and bubble gum. Hope this helps!!  Good LUck

  6. Well candy land is a cool theme you could like have huge bowls of sweets like marshmellows are easy caus there big and it looks really cool. A choc fountain would be cool (but i have no clue how much they are to rent or buy) popcorn would also be cool in big bowls um alot of colour like streamers and balloons also u could rap balloons in that see through rapping paper stuff to look like giant pieces of candy!!!!
