Hosting an exchange student - any advice???

My husband and I are hosting an exchange student from Germany for the school year. She is sixteen and will be here in a few weeks. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on the situation. Or could share their experience hosting or being hosted. I would love any information I can get!

There was an exchange student (same age) from Germany @ my school this year.

He said it was great because the hosts were very welcoming and showed him around the neighbourhood.

I don't know if the hosts are allowed to choose or anything, but his curfew was at 9 and I personally think it's too early .. haha =P
