Hot Snap on road to quick recovery – Horseracing news
Hot Snap is recovering really nicely and is set to make a comeback to the sport anytime soon, when her camp feels that she is completely fit.
Khalid Abdullah’s racing manager, Teddy Grimthorpe said about the young filly, “We gave her a break after the Guineas. She just seemed out of sorts that day, even when she was being saddled. She just didn't look very happy. She has done a couple of gentle
bits of work recently, just taking it slowly, but if she continues to progress we can start looking for another race.”
Although there are quite a few important racing coming in the next few months, yet there has been no confirmation of when Hot Snap will make a comeback. Her camp will be looking at all of the events, but the final decision will be taken by the owners, as
they would not want to risk an injury to their runner.
According to Grimthorpe, “There are very few options for a filly of this calibre. She came out of Ascot well and has pleased everyone since. Provided she continues to progress, the Irish Oaks is really the only option, but Prince Khalid will make that decision.”
Hot Snap made her debut in 2012 and was up against some extremely good runners. Therefore, she was not given the best odds for victory. The punters had faith in a few other challengers and they opted to risk money in their favour.
However, the three-year-old filly had nothing to lose in the race and she came out aggressively to snatch a victory from her rivals. She controlled her pace really nicely and was give a pretty decent ride by her jockey Eddie Ahern.
The victory gave immense confidence to the talented filly and she appeared in a tough race at Newmarket afterwards. She once again managed to handle the pressure really nicely and finished on top of the table by a comfortable distance of more than two lengths.
Looking at her solid performances, Hot Snap was finally given the best odds in the third race of her career. However, she failed to meet the expectations that time and ended up way down in ninth place. From then onwards, she has been out of action and has
been making good progress.
