Hey ya'll Im almost 22 weeks along, but had a major surgery when i was only 16 weeks and they had to due an incision like a cesarean. now that my tummy is stretching to make room for the baby i get REALLY bad back and incision pains. I have meds for the pain but dont like to take them unless i absolutley cannot take the pain because the meds are pretty strong ( my incision is BIG). the only thing that seems to help are hot baths but i heard once that hot baths are not good while pregnant because you raise your babies body temp. is that true? I get scared sometimes to take a hot bath when im in pain because i dont want to make the amniotic fluid hot and hurt the baby. this is my first pregnancy and ive already had a rough time. Its amazing my little man made it through the complicated surgery and ALL the complications that came after. please help me out and if any one has gone through this...what helped you. sometimes the pains are so bad i have to go back to the ER to get injected...pls HELP. thanks

  1. Wow, that is quite a story. Baths are fine during pregnancy and can do much to soothe both mother and baby. As long as you do not break into a sweat, the water is at the right temperature. If you begin to sweat, get out of the water or add some cooler water. Jacuzzi's continually heat the water whereas a bath is warm initially and then rapidly cools. Best wishes to you both, G

  2. dont take HOT baths but under 100degrees is okay. i had my hubby roll a tennis ball across it or used a warm heating pad.

  3. wow, people will tell other people some stories!  Your babies temp will be what your temp is no matter what.  Your body helps regulate the baby.  You can take your warm bath!   It is actually a nice comforting thing to do.

  4. You can take a hot bath, it's fine... I've done it with all my pregnancies and because it's a bathtub, the water starts to cool immediately so you are fine...

That's just one of those things people say but it's unfounded.
