Hot flashes?

im 22 years old and have recently been experiencing hot flashes. I am on my period at the moment but the hot flashes started 2 days before my cycle did. And this, being the last day of my cycle, my flow is very very light and i'm still having them. I would say in a given day I have about 5 or 6. I have not ever had them before. I dont have insurance so I am trying to aviod the doctor unless completely needed. Should I wait it out? What else could be causing this? I am wondering if it may not be linked to my cycle...and something else could be causing it. also, Im sorry to post in this section but I am not getting answers anywhere else and I know this is where to women hang out :) Thank you.

I'm only guessing here.  Maybe it is your hormones out of balance, you may have an estrogen problem.  It also could be a side effect of a medicine you are taking.  You might look online for home remedies to try.  Then see a doctor.
