I am in charge of booking an important dinner meeting in downtown San Francisco on Monday night.

What a hot, delicious spot that is also quiet and business appropriate... that will comfortably allow 10 people to converse at a decent volume level?

  1. you could go to johns grill and sit upstairs

    tomjky toys would be fine

  2. Well this is a good place that has a semi private room.

Thing is I do not think they are open on Mondays as with many other restaurants.

  3. Annabell's.  It is small but appropriate and the menu will definately impress your colleagues. Duck confi salad is the best.http://www.annabelles.net/

Also, Lulu's where Clinton once dined.  It's a large upscale restaurant set in gorgious part of town.

  4. There are two places downtown San Francisco I frequently use for private, discreet business lunches and dinners that never disappoint - always excellent food and service with plenty of peace and quiet:

    1.  The Grill in the Meridien Hotel (formerly the Park Hyatt, across from Embarcadero One and next door to the Bentley Reserve historical building).

    2.  The restaurant in the Four Seasons Hotel on Market Street.

While there is a long list of terrific, much more trendy restaurants in downtown SF (Boulevard, Aqua, Town Hall, Kokkari, Slanted Door, One Market, Postrio, Farallon, Michael Mina, Maxfield's at the Palace), the noise level in them does tend to prevent any kind of meaningful business discussion. Two of the newer hip and delicious places, Bong Su and Perbacco, do have completely private rooms, though, and might also be worth looking into for a party of 10.
