I keep adding water to my hot tub, and each time I go to use it the water level is significantly lower? There does not seem to be an obvious leak, What could it be?

  1. Well, you'd be surprised at how much water evaporates out of a hot tub, especially if you are not covering it when it is not in use.

Looking for leaks is always a good idea... tho its not the sole cause of water loss, hehehe.

I'd suggest you use an insulated cover, to help not only with the moisture loss, but also thermal loss.

You can find several suppliers of custom fitted covers online.

  2. open a side access panel, look for dripping or pooled water. run the jets: a coupling could be leaking or split pipe. do same on other side of tub if you can't see all areas. check drain tube connection. also evaporation can cause water loss, but that should only be a 'top off' type of loss, and maybe every couple of weeks.

    Hope that helps.

  3. you do have a leak. you will have to get to all sides of the tub. hopefuly the tub is completely ubove ground. make sure your water ia at the right level. turn all pumps on and look all the way around your tub. make sure the pumps are on high speed since this puts more pressure on all fittings and jets. also check if you have them the air inlet valve that you turn to let more air into the jets to make them stronger.also check at your equipment for leaks when the pumps are on high speed check inbetween the pumps wet end and motor some times the mechanical seal leaks more on high speed and is more noticeable. take your time and put your hands on the pipes close to the jets and move them slightly some times this will exspose leaks. also check around your light fixture for leaks.

  4. One possibility is that the mechanical stopper is *almost* closing but is still allowing water to drain away.
