Hot weather and the demand for ice cream? Price?

During unusually hot weather we may expect the demand curve for ice cream to shift to the right. Why would the price of ice cream rise to a new market-clearing level?

Because supply is not shifting to the same amount as demand do, this leads to new equilibrium with higher price.
