  1. Oreck Commercial Vac

  2. Royal has a sturdy, inexpensive line of commercial vacuums. Depending on the size of the hotel, the number of vacuums you need, the type of flooring you'll be vacuuming, and the type of dirt you're expecting to have to clean up, one of these models might suit your situation. Other good models are Oreck and Riccar (very expensive but they last for decades), but every manufacturer has a commercial section.

I'd steer clear of Dysons. They're immensely popular with people who are impressed with infomercials and demonstrations and who don't have a clue as to how vacuums actually work. Suction, which is basically everything in the Dyson, is only of minor importance in a vacuum; some vacuums that work as well as Dysons have no suction at all. They're too bulky to fit under furniture, they're not sturdily made, repairs can take weeks, and the Dysons with beater bars don't seem to have much oomph - sure, they have suction, but the beater bar isn't able to dislodge much dirt for the vacuum to suck up.

  3. what kind of vacuums do they already have?  It would be a good idea to see how long the ones already there have held up to the job. and go from there.  Generally, commercial ANYTHING costs a boatload because it is heavy duty and built to stand up under constant heavy use.  My boss just spent $300 on a 4 slice commercial toaster for the restaurant I work at.  You can get the cheap ones at a Walmart or whatever but they won't stand up to the weird stuff you will end up vacuuming in a commercial setting.  Oreck Commercial vacuums seem pretty darn sturdy and the last time I priced one of those was about 15 years ago and that was at $300 plus.

  4. We have a dyson and it's the best vacuum I've ever seen. They are on the pricier side I think but are worth in terms of product life and quality.

Check out some reviews for other vacuums here.
