Question:

Hotel in Rome?

I am going to Rome with my boyfriend and would like someone to reccommend a hotel that is not too close to termini, but within walking distance of most of the sights.

I have been to Rome twice, but stayed in dodgy backpackers, so was looking for something nice this time for around £100 per night.

I've looked on trip advisor, but there are so many conflicting reviews....

  1. hotel bergamo right nextdoor to the station. clean and 70 euros a night.

i always stay there. i live in italy and travel to rome quite often to visit friends.

  2. If you're looking for a great alternative to a hotel stay in ROME or just aren't ready to pay high nightly rates for some of the better city hotels, we have a great alternative for you – serviced http://www.romerentalapartments.com !

Ours Apartmenst centrally located, secure, clean, comfortable, and completely furnished apartments for your next stay in Rome.

  3. 100 pounds a night should be fine and I've stayed in this hotel before http://www.hotelenthusiast.com/autumn/Ro... It's near Piazza navona so the location is excellent. My advice is to stay in an apartment, you always tend to get more for your money and the last time I stayed in Rome I booekd this apartment http://www.holiday-velvet.com/rome/rome_... It was perfect for two people.

  4. I dont reccomend trip advisor, it can ruin your view of something before you have even tried it.

Get up and go, and make the trip amazing, even if the accomodation is a bit rubbish. You dont want to be spending time in there anyway do ya?

I reccomend www.alpharooms.com for good hotels. I booked with them when me and my boyfriend went to Dublin and Barcelona.

  6. www.acj.it/tritone

  7. You can go to Scoobit.com, the hotel search engine at http://www.scoobit.com Switch the language to English, then fill the form with city name (Rome) you can leave the address field blank. Then click on "Search hotel".  I went to Hotel Le Petit, nice and clean place, loving it, but feel free to choose the hotel that best fits your needs. Scoobit.com is a safe website I've used many times so far, and you can book on line. Have a great time.

  8. When I went to Rome I booked 2 out of 3 nights accomodaiotn.....I got a deal in a 4* hotel ( around 55euros per night from memory), but it was quite a way out of the coentral city and so I was pleased I could change....I went to the info centre at the train station and they got me a single room near the train staiton for around 60euros...I was really happy with it..depsite being a bit small it was central!

Anyway I have put some backpackers websites which have reasonable hotels as well which has some ratings by travellers which might help.

Have a look! I think it will help you a lt

  10. Hotel prices vary quite a bit depending on the season and what's going on in Rome when you plan to be there. One that I often recommend is the Hotel Romano: http://en.venere.com/hotels_rome/kolosse... It's just across the street from the forum and easy walking distance to the attractions. Often, it's below £100, but right now it's a bit over. Another one that's well below your limit and has generally good reviews is: http://en.venere.com/hotels_rome/kolosse... I haven't ever personally stayed in this one though.

You can use the Venere site to find other options for the specific dates you're interested in. Pick a section of the city on the map and you can sort by price, guest rating, or other criteria.
