  1. This hotel is  on the extreme north edge of Paris and not at all convenient to most of the tourist sights of the city. There is simply nothing there. It is at least a 20 minute walk into the tourist parts of Montmarte.

The area is run down, shabby and generally undesirable. while Paris is generally a safe city this is one area that verges on being dangerous.

I checked reviews of the hotel and they state that the rooms are tiny and the facilities limited.

In short it is an altogether bad choice for a vacation in Paris.

  2. The hotel itself is not bad, it is part of an affordable hotel chain called Kyriad. Although the rooms are generally small with basic amenities and impersonal decor, they are clean and in good condition. It is a very reputable chain. I agree however that the location is terrible.

These hotels can be very well located in other French cities but in Paris they are usually on the outskirts. There is another Kyriad hotel in the 14th arrondissement, which is still not very central but the district is much safer and a little closer to the center than the hotel you mentioned:

http://hotel-kyriad-paris-alesia.com/ind... (unfortunately the website is in French only and doesn't give any prices but you can e-mail them and ask). It is near métro Alesia on line 4 (which takes you right to the center of the city), Pernety on line 13 (direct to the Champs Elysées) and bus line 58 which goes to the center too (Notre Dame, Odéon, Châtelet, le Marais...) : http://www.ratp.fr/

Other Kyriad hotels in Paris are listed here:

Avoid Gare du Nord and the north east districts of Paris.
